The Logic School at KCCS

The Logic Stage builds upon the foundation established during the Grammar School years, guiding students toward deeper understanding, careful reasoning, and the ability to recognize connections between ideas. Students begin to move beyond simply learning and remembering information to asking why, examining evidence, identifying assumptions, and constructing thoughtful arguments.

Biblical truth is woven throughout the curriculum rather than treated as separate from academic learning. Students are encouraged to consider how Scripture provides a framework for understanding themselves, their studies, and the world around them.

Students engage increasingly with primary sources, great works of literature, history, mathematics, science, and the liberal arts. Through discussion, debate, writing, and presentations, they learn to articulate ideas clearly, listen carefully to opposing arguments, and respond with charity and intellectual integrity. The memory work and recitation developed during the Grammar years continue, but now serve as a foundation for analysis, discussion, and independent thought.

The goal of the Logic Stage is not merely to produce students who can argue well, but students who can reason well in pursuit of truth—learning to distinguish truth from error, recognize beauty and goodness, and thoughtfully apply what they have learned to the world God has made.
